KEEPING IT REAL, DELIVERING RESULTS
I help individuals and companies reflect, take stock of challenges and opportunities then re-calibrate and deliver positive change that endures
Ruth spoke to Northern Mallee Leaders at the launch of the 2017 program and had an instant impact on the group. She introduced a concept of “activated leaders” that has resonated with the group and really inspired them to make the most of the program.
The incredibly high level of commitment to projects in 2017 is directly due to Ruth’s influence thanks to her willingness to introduce an accountability measure to the group that they have really taken on. Ruth is a warm, engaging and proactive speaker!
Rod Robinson, Northern Mallee Leaders Program, Mildura
Over a number of years Ruth has been reliable, professional, and generous in her work with the VLGA and our partners on various events and projects. She is always a joy to work alongside as she brings her creativity and positive energy to all her endeavours. Whether it’s reviewing progress of the Victorian Local Government Women’s Charter in 2011, mentoring newly elected women councillors in 2012, being a share administrator for the VLGA’s More women for LG Facebook group in 2015, or facilitating the Annual Women Mayors event co-hosted with ALGWA Victoria in 2016, Ruth shares her wisdom, experience and connections to make sure our events and projects shine.

Ruth has been an exceptional coach in both professional and personal contexts. While her techniques are positive and affirming she also challenges with hard questions which not only assist in navigating and excelling through career-related circumstances, but provoke and encourage growth as an individual.
Cr Sebastian Klein, Mayor Hepburn Shire Council
I am impressed by Ruth’s dedication and passion for increasing women’s participation in local government. As a first time Council candidate, I have benefited from Ruth’s helpful advice through the More Women for Local Government group and appreciated her nous in arranging an opportunity to meet with other female council candidates to celebrate the record number of women standing for council elections in 2016.
Cr Susanne Newton, Darebin Council
Ruth conducted a collaboration session during one our organisation’s regional skills workshops. It was well targeted to the audience, very practical with an attractive and engaging style of delivery. She helped us get much more focus and tangible outcomes, in what can be an otherwise confusing and vague space. We will have her back in the blink of an eye!
Michael Glaessens, Program Manger Agrifood
Ruth was my leadership coach in early 2016 during which time I decided to run and was subsequently successfully elected to local council. Ruth’s skills as an experienced leader and ability to understand where you are at as a client (point A where ever that is) assist in clarifying your WHY of goals in a way that propels action, had me raising the bar on myself. Ruth’s style is grounded, no-nonsense common sense, firm in terms of holding others (myself as her client) accountable to agreed actions, yet warm and compassionate to understanding the competing demands on time, energy and expectations/attitudes of others that particularly women (myself with young children) have in running for public office.
